The Practice of Taking Prayer Requests

Hobart Assembly of God is in the process of expanding its Hobart, Indiana, facilities to accommodate a growing congregation. The church has served as a spiritual center for the community since 1938. In addition to ministries, global missionary programs, and three Sunday services, Hobart Assembly accepts prayer request from residents of Indiana and surrounding areas.

Believers can submit prayer requests for any issues troubling them, including illness, financial difficulties, and problems of loved ones. This act of communal praying has several positive benefits, including:

Encouragement. Prayer can be a powerful way for a congregation to uplift members who are dealing with trying circumstances. Knowing that they have the support of their community can encourage people to persevere through their difficulties.

Strengthened faith. In many cases, people forget about the troubles that plagued their thoughts once their prayers have been answered. Recording and reviewing prayer requests is a great reminder to be thankful for all that God has done.

Altruism. Praying for others is one of the most generous acts a believer can perform. This sentiment is echoed in James 5:16, which says, ‘’Pray for one another, that you may be healed.’’ Fulfilling prayer requests benefits all parties by reminding them of God’s generosity.

Keeping Youth Engaged through Ministry

Hobart Assembly in Hobart, Indiana, was established in 1938 to provide guidance, discipleship, and service based on Christian principles. Welcoming all Northwestern Indiana residents, Hobart Assembly organizes several ministries, including separate ministries for men, women, and youth.

Christian youth ministries give young people a place to learn about Christ and develop their faith. Here are a few strategies for organizing a youth ministry that attracts and retains members:

Let young people take the lead. Give teens the opportunity to lead and plan activities or lend their talents to organizing events. This way, group participants will have a way to pursue their interests while engaging with the Word of God.

Recognize the unique needs of young people. Adolescence is a challenging time, and participants may be managing school, parents, friends, insecurities, and fears all at once. The ministry should focus on topics that impact youth and impart relevant lessons.

– Spread the message on social media. The majority of teens spend time on social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube. With some careful planning and research, youth ministries can take advantage of these mediums to reach their target audience.
